Why carbon permits are really carbon taxes

Irrespective of what you are told carbon permits are really carbon taxes dressed up as market prices.

Carbon permits are the equivalent of tax farming. Tax farming was applied in France in the Middle Ages and was not brought to an end until the revolution of 1789 when all tax farmers were executed. This fact was brought home to me yesterday while re-reading articles by Jackson on carbon taxes. One of them contained a footnote on why carbon tax is not a price. He pointed out that carbon permits are a return to tax farming. He nailed what’s entirely wrong with carbon permits over three years ago and this material has also been suppressed by the right:

“It used to be common for rulers of old to farm out tax collection to contractors. These contractors would bid for the right to collect the taxes. The successful bidders then received a portion of the taxes they collected. This is why carbon permits fit the description of a tax. Therefore the auctioning of carbon permits is just another form of tax farming.” (Carbon taxes and Keynesian insanity)

This completely destroys the Gillard–Dreyfus drivel that “the government will ensure only credible international units will be allowed.” The whole bloody scheme is a tax collection fraud that attracts rent-seeking frauds motivated by avarice. It also involves the perversion of the rule of law and the administration of justice.

Anyone trying to defend his firm against this corrupt tax scheme will face 10 years in prison. This is worse than punishment dealt out to rapists. Even murderers who warrant the death penalty can be out in 3 years. What did the right come up with to attack that monstrous scheme? Henry Ergas and his legalistic tripe that concedes the fundamental lies spun by Cabinet.

To completely destroy the idea of a carbon tax and permits requires the kind of thinking that is absent on the right. Let us look at the pivotal lie that carbon tax is a market price. To shred this claim requires thinking in terms of real prices. And their formation and hence where real market prices come from.

Market processes, due entirely to voluntary human action, are intricate and extensive. But in the raw, consumers’ preferences determine prices. It is the role of entrepreneurs to satisfy these preferences. That consumers are not prepared to pay a price that would see production of a thing means they do not value it highly enough and firms won’t, in a free market, bother wasting precious capital in its production. Something of no value will not even be contemplated by customers and producers. (I got this from from reading Sinclair Davidson and Alan Moran. Just kidding. What I got from this is unprintable.) This is what Jackson wrote:

“… prices are a market phenomenon… formed by the personal evaluations of market participants… expressed as ratios between sums of money and the goods and services against which they exchange. In the words of Ludwig von Mises:

“A price is expressive of the position which acting men attach to a thing under the present state of their efforts to remove uneasiness. “(Human Action, Third Revised edition, Henry Regenery Company, 1966, p. 392.)

“There is no way carbon permits fit this description. These abominations are a creation of a gang of politicians, not the market. There is no process of reverse evaluation where both parties engage in voluntary exchange for mutual benefit. As for a tax, it is a charge levied by the government. There is nothing voluntary about it and no one pretends otherwise.”  (Carbon taxes and Keynesian insanity)

Now we have completely shredded the Gillard Cabinet’s falsehoods as parroted by that ignoramus Mark Dreyfus in his No poison pills in carbon tax, just vital certainty, in which he asserts:

“Rather than creating a distortion, pricing carbon corrects a market failure as damage caused by emissions is not reflected in the price of goods and services.”

Dreyfus and the Cabinet are full of bullshit. Carbon emission does not cause any distortions. Co2 is a nutrient, not a pollutant. As for the concept of “market failure”, the source for this garbage is the myth of perfect competition. It’s been seized on by the Left to attack markets. Now they have seized on it to perpetrate what is nothing less than a monstrous crime on a massive multifaceted scale. No wonder Mr Jackson sarcastically called “market failure as a market result that leftists don’t like.”

As for our incompetent right, consider the fact that they also want to ram a carbon tax down our throats. They and their little mates in the Abbott lead Liberal Party are playing games with the lives of Australians in matters they treat as their private affairs. They have ensured only the Institute of Public Affairs advises on carbon tax. What did the Institute of Public Affairs Alan Moran come up with? The crude cost push accounting line. It is void of any hint of the real nature of carbon tax and thinking in terms of real prices and their formation.

They know Jackson nailed the economic cases against carbon tax and alternative energy. That’s why they detest him. So they unleashed Menzies House editor in chief John Humphreys to try and assassinate his character while the cowardly Alan Moran libelled him as loopy. The right don’t give a sod about principles and Australians. They are out for themselves only. The rotten, lying bastards.

That’s the garbage that is called the right. And they spew it out daily, now reinforced by Ergas’ bilge. That’s what the Abbott Liberal Party Opposition runs on. The likes of Senator Abetz and Scott Morrison would have everyone believe that the frontbench is loaded with talent and backed by hotshot advisers. The Liberal Party frontbench and their advisers are shit and they are betraying Australians over carbon taxes.

It damns the right and their clunker tankers that a layman in economics can shred carbon tax and carbon permits. I can do it because I studied the vital material at the Brookesnews University Faculty of Austrian School Economics. Every layman should do likewise.

Henry Ergas compounds Institute of Public Affairs’ destruction of fight against carbon tax

Henry Ergas refuses to admit he is wrong. It is important to pick up Henry Ergas again, because he is compounding the Institute of Public Affairs’ deliberate destruction of fight against carbon tax. His legalistic line on carbon tax continues to gain currency, despite the fact that it has been thoroughly shredded for the nonsense it is. The establishment right is betraying Australians with their stupidity.

Mark Dreyfus, already pinned for his lying and stupidity on carbon tax (A carbon tax will devastate Australian manufacturing), latched onto Ergas’ article of the 16th and belted him with it.

“… the commentary by Henry Ergas (September 16) proves that there are none so blind as those who will not see.

“Ergas claims the government wants to establish carbon units as personal property to create a right to compensation that would make it prohibitively costly for a future government to repeal the legislation. This is ridiculous.” (No poison pills in carbon tax, just vital certainty)

Having shredded Ergas’ drivel – Parliament is bound by Acts – Dreyfus then tore into Ergas over property rights. Dreyfus would have everyone believe that carbon credits is real property. This is garbage but it is garbage that Ergas also conceded.

Dreyfus hopes that the lie that carbon tax in the form of carbon credits constitutes real property rights does entrench carbon tax forever. It would not even occur to the reasonable man to call a tax real property rights, despite what the likes of Ergas and Dreyfus say.

Carbon tax would not be a revenue raising tax. It would be a horrendous criminal fraud that also involves the transition to absolutism – a shift toward totalitarianism. How could such an Act be lawful? It must be unlawful for the Parliament to attempt it, irrespective of its form – Gillard’s or Greg Hunt’s. So who in the hell do the politicians, both Labour Party and Liberal Party, think they are to even contemplate doing that to Australians?

As for those rotten bastards hoping to be tremendously enriched through carbon credits, those bastards should bear the full cost of their thuggery. They have no more right to be compensated then a fence has after his stolen goods have been returned to their rightful owners.

The establishment right and their think tanks are not attacking carbon tax in principle. They are attacking only the Gillard Cabinet’s form of the tax, while preparing to ram down their own through Greg Hunt and the Abbott Cabinet. This is reinforced by their Institute of Public Affairs Alan Moran cost push accounting line deception of Australians.

The IPA-Alan Moran line concedes the Gillard Cabinet’s “case” for carbon tax. This told the Gillard Cabinet that there is no in principle objection to carbon tax and objections are trivial. To make certain no genuine devastating assault on the tax and the Cabinet could be mounted, the right gave free reign to Menzies House editor in chief John Humphreys to engage in vicious smearing and character assassination of the man who mounted the genuine economic case against carbon tax, Jackson.

Now we have Henry Ergas pompously pretending he has nailed carbon tax. Instead of admitting he is wrong, he keeps digging his deep hole. He met Dreyfus’ tripe with foot-stamping, ‘I’m right, you’re wrong, so there.’ (Lies, deception and carbon tax). His new pals at the IPA cheer-girls squad, Catallaxy right, slapped him on the back.

Their trivia is ammo for the Gillard Cabinet only. The Gillard Cabinet can now say this:  ‘The Institute of Public Affairs has made it clear that there is no genuine objection to carbon tax. Henry Ergas has shown there is no objection in law to carbon tax. There is no objection, only obstructionist wind.’

There is only a matter of weeks before the Gillard carbon tax will be voted on and the establishment right persists in their stupidity. Henry Ergas has compounded what they are doing by totally distracting attention from what carbon tax is. It shows:

Firms are increasingly desperate in their effort to stop carbon tax. All that they have been fed is the IPA-Alan Moran poison. The upshot is that they are not savaging the tax and the Gillard Cabinet. They are reduced to whining about costs – Carbon tax will cost coal sector $18bn – ACA. And things have degenerated since yesterday (cf. below).

The establishment right is betraying Australians in their fight against a horrific, imminent danger. And what they won’t come clean on is the fact that they also aim to ram a carbon tax down our throats. Their dishonesty has temporary merit, the fury of Australians is directed at the ALP. But this will pale before what Australians will do to the right and the Abbott Shadow Cabinet when they realise the Greg Hunt “Direct Action” plot is another carbon tax plus central planning fraud.

Tax could cost coal $18b” (Herald Sun headline, 28/9/2011)

“RepuTex, a carbon analytics firm, said natural gas generators would be the big winners, with their output projected to increase 40 per cent by 2020.

“A $23-a-tonne carbon price from day one is not enough to completely switch coal to gas or less carbon intense technologies, but it will drive more investment in cleaner technologies, away from brown coal,” RepuTex research director John Metzler said at the Powering Conference, also in Melbourne.”

Since Mr. John Metzler thinks the scam is great he can explain to all Australians who would bear the full economic opportunity costs if the aim of the carbon tax was transition to gas powered plant:

The destruction of coal powered firms, all firms supporting them and all firms supporting these firms. And entire towns. That’s Australians and their families sent into abject poverty.

The carnage would stretch throughout Australia as many more firms are hit because of the above impact on the above victims. And many more abandoned due to the tremendous increases in electricity prices. Living standards slashed for all Australians. So, while it wouldn’t be total economic collapse that transition to windmills and sunbeams millions would cause, it would still be horrendous.

So, one way or another, millions of Australians are to be totally ruined so that a lucky few can be enriched through massive transfers of wealth into their hands.  But they will be severely disappointed. The objective of carbon tax is, as the extreme Left has openly admitted, to wipe out centralised energy generation and not helping crony capitalists to fortunes swiped off the backs of Australians. It is about destroying our living standards and Australia.

Those seeking to enrich themselves through carbon tax don’t give a stuff about the real impact it will have on the lives of millions of Australia and that it will comprehensively wreck Australia. Australians can jolly will get stuffed, the sodding little ingrates.

Indications of: The end of the mining boom has arrived?

Is this the end of the mining boom? Australian manufacturing has been in a bad way for years. The right and the media commentariat still remain clueless about the situation. Now it looks like more bad news has broken, as Australian mining companies took a battering in stock markets.

The world’s stock markets continue to tumble and the US Treasury is now warning that the U.S might be on the verge of another recession. The US isn’t on the verge of recession. It’s been in recession for years. As soon as Obama started running for the presidency Mr. Jackson predicted that if elected Obama’s policies would cause economic stagnation because  their costs “would have to be paid out of forgone growth.” Jackson could foresee this but not the economic commentariat. (Obama’s economic folly and Paul Krugman’s hypocrisy)

Australian mining companies have been hammered. This is important because in a sense Australian mining has been largely integrated into China’s economy. So when China’s boom goes puff so does our mining boom. This is why investors are taking a very dim view of Australia’s economic future and the marvelous mining boom. (A true analysis of the situation requires the depth of genuine Austrian school economists. Come back Mr. Jackson!)

Though, when the Shadow economist writes perhaps it will be a subject he will treat. For what will unfold is going to be very ugly. It’s only a question of time, leaving only one outstanding question, are we seeing the bust emerging now?

The media commentariat has banged on about Australia’s strong “two speed economy” or “dual economy.” These are empty phrases that were invented to conceal the fact that these commentators are completely clueless about the true state of the economy. As Jackson pointed out many times, what these people are calling a two speed economy is in reality an economy suffering severe imbalances caused by China’s massive credit expansion.

This expansion inflated the demand for our resources while driving up the dollar at the same time. Manufacturing got a double whammy. An overvalued dollar (in terms of purchasing power parity) that hit manufacturing exports and an increase in demand for local capital caused by the mining boom.

And as for manufacturing, I’ve heard even city types say: Not to worry, the emerging “service economy” means the future is bright. They swallowed the guff put out by the commentariat and the establishment right’s clunker tankers such as Institute of Public Affairs and the Catallaxy right. What that marvelous “service economy” amounts to is Australians are going to out-compete China in the laundry business, millions of Australians gaily scrubbing clothes for a pittance. Terrific.

That lot should follow Mr. Jackson’s advice and refer now and then to the writings on the classical economists who knew that this kind of thinking was rot.

The reports have altered the perspective on what I had originally intended to post on Friday. For I have been waiting in trepidation for some months now for indications of what is bound to happen. It looks like they have arrived. They’ve certainly sent chills up my spine. But why worry? Both the Left and the establishment right through the Abbott Liberal Party aim to devastate Australia anyway with carbon tax.

The reports have altered the perspective on what I had originally intended to post last Friday and this week. The concerns will be addressed afresh. This is the departure point for hammering the Left, Wayne Swan, the establishment right, the Liberal Party Opposition and their clunker tanks all over again with new stresses. They are not merely bloody stupid political parasites. They are far worse than that.

Is this the end of the mining boom?

Australia has been in recession since c.2006. Recession strikes first where Austrian school economic theory predicts, manufacturing. It did. Now it is still being blitzed by an over-valued dollar.

News reports today related the US Treasury expressed concern the U.S might be on the verge of recession, followed by sell downs in financial markets. The US isn’t on the verge of recession. It is beyond mere recession. Jackson predicted before he was elected that Obama’s policies would send American into economic stagnation. They have.

It was also stated that China’s manufacturing is slowly contracting. So what happens to mining then? What does this mean for Australia? We are facing a terrible time ahead.

The reports have altered the perspective on what I had originally intended to post today. The original concerns will be addressed afresh. The news reports are now the departure point and we will commence with this on Monday.

Because now we have to hammer Wayne Swan. And 3MTR, the establishment right, the Liberal Party Opposition and their clunker tanks all over again with some new stresses. But why worry, eh? Both the Left and the establishment right (through the Abbott Liberal Party Opposition) aim to devastate Australia anyway with carbon tax.

Why is the right-wing selling Australians and Australia down the carbon tax river?

Why is the right-wing selling Australians and Australia down the carbon tax river? Until shortly after posting Henry Ergas and the right screw up fight against carbon tax it seemed that the Henry Ergas legalistic “case” against carbon tax was merely hailed by the media and their listeners as a fabulous new line. This is bad enough but it is wrong. It is being purveyed as judicial doctrine.

Yesterday morning it was reported that the Treasury had persuaded the Baillieu Cabinet that looting taxpayers for alternative energy scams was a bad policy. The Treasury’s argument was not a good one but at least it was good enough to arrest the alternative fraud that was being perpetrated against Victorians.

3MTR (A.K.A. Radio IPA) played a “doorstop” press interview of Ted Baillieu yesterday. In relation to the above, he was asked if his government was bound by the Steve Bracks-John Brumby Act mandating a reduction of 20% in carbon dioxide emissions by a certain date. The question was exactly the same in content as Henry Ergas’ inane but insidious guff on sovereignty.

Baillieu’s response was worse than feeble. He said that the Act has been examined. It was found it contains no substance binding the current Parliament and Cabinet to act on it. That it merely expresses and this is good, “an aspiration” to cut Co2 emissions by 20%.

Whoever is advising the Baillieu Cabinet should be sacked. For if that’s the best advice they are giving the Baillieu Cabinet then heaven help Baillieu if a really knotty problem needs to be struck down. Oh, my mistake, their advisers have already failed them over the desalination plant.

The Parliament, to repeat, is not bound by previous Acts of Parliament and there are three words that must be applied to rotten Acts – rescind, repeal and incinerate. There are enough Acts to warrant such treatment such as the Blasphemy Act and the anti-Bill of Rights. Why haven’t they struck down these assaults on the genuine rights of Victorians!

Baillieu’s answer left intact an excuse to maintaining the fraudulent carbon tax, a tax that is based on the Lysenko lie that Co2 is a pollutant. Ballieu needs top gun advisers and sources, not political hacks who don’t have a bloody clue about the economic nature of carbon tax and the ruinous nature of alternative energy scams.

But there it was, the assertion of the Henry Ergas “doctrine”. It didn’t end there. Shortly after, 3MTR’s Luke Grant asserted the Ergas line as true: If the Gillard carbon tax bill is passed by Federal Parliament it can’t be repealed, we will be stuck with it. I hit the roof and mailed off to Mr. Luke Grant a brief summary of the essential points in yesterday’s post as to why the Ergas “doctrine” is bilge.

How is it that a load of tripe published only a matter of days ago is now “authoritative doctrine”?

Because it is pumped out by Australia’s establishment right-wing who are now in bed with the Abbott-Hunt carbon tax. The establishment right and their Liberal Party hack pals are not fighting the carbon tax. They aim to ram down our throats their version of carbon tax. But this doesn’t explain why 3MTR allowed itself to be transformed into Radio IPA.

Here’s something else. In addition to the fact that Parliamentary sovereignty means Parliament cannot be bound by previous Parliamentary Acts, neither can it be bound by Acts that are unlawful. It is unlawful to even try to do that. Attempts to enforce unlawful Acts by various Cabinets have been challenged and struck down by High Courts as unlawful. In fact, there was recently such a case.

The High Court of Australia struck down the Gillard’s Malaysian policy because it is unlawful, unlike the successful “Nauru Solution” that stopped illegal immigration. The Ergas line is insidious – it is OK for Parliament to be lawless. What in the hell does Ergas think he’s doing pumping out such dangerous arsenic? What on earth does he believe he is babbling on about?

His garbage is now reinforcing the IPA-Moran garbage the establishment right is running to destroy the fight against carbon tax. And consider the prospect, the right asserts the Ergas line in a rotten attempt to shield the Greg Hunt hatchet job on Australians should this version of carbon tax be “enacted”. What a pack of good for nothing spivs.

What a carbon tax regime amounts to is the perpetration of an economically devastating fraud against Australians which involves a shift towards absolutism. How can that be lawful. How can it be the execution of the duty of Parliament, as a court of common law, to defend Australians and their real freedoms. Yet this is what not only the Left are proposing to do to Australians but also what sits in the name of the Liberal Party.

As for the Victorian Government’s desal plant problem. How is it that Victorians have been bound by bloody politicians and their advisers to secure a massive pseudo-investment? Baillieu, tell those behind it to get stuffed. Tell them the Liberal Cabinet will not pauperise Victorians to enrich rent-seeking opportunists. If these crony capitalists want compensation, tell them to collect it from those who cooked up this crooked scheme, the ALP.

Henry Ergas and the right screw up fight against carbon tax

Henry Ergas and his establishment right-wing mates are destroying the fight against carbon tax.

His latest attack on (Labor plants poison pills in carbon tax. The Australian, 16/9/11) Gillard’s carbon tax is being promoted by media outlets such as 3MTR as a serious contribution. Codswallop. Meantime, Tony Abbott asserts that the Liberal Party’s own carbon tax policy (misnamed Direct Action) is capped. If he believes this, he is a fool. If he doesn’t believe it, he is a liar.

The problem with the Henry Ergas article is that it is completely devoid of economic reasoning. It’s lucky the Institute of Public Affairs’ Alan Moran didn’t contribute to the article because then it would have been more horrible than it is. Ergas asserts that a carbon tax is nothing more than a revenue raising measure. (Never mind that despite what Sinclair Davidson at Catallaxy and John Humphreys at Menzies House say about carbon dioxide being a pollutant, it is a damnable lie.)

So what does the Ergas attack on the carbon tax amount to? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. What he did do, however, is reveal that he and his right-wing pals do not have any understanding of the true nature of a carbon tax and it’s impact on the economy. All he could serve up was legalistic bilge to the effect that repealing the tax would cost Australian taxpayers billions in compensation.

Ergas argues that Parliament can be bound to decisions made today so long as they are Acts of Parliament. This is numbing stuff. Parliamentary Sovereignty means succeeding parliaments cannot be bound by the decisions of their predecessors. As for the sanctity of contracts, I am all for it. What I object to is the outrageous fraud that these contracts are based on. Henry Ergas does not seem to grasp that contracts based on fraud are not binding.

Therefore the “poison pills” that Henry Ergas refers to are not binding on taxpayers. Those who buy into these phony contracts in the hope of exploiting Australian taxpayers for financial gain should bear the full cost of their avaricious behaviour. They have no more right to be compensated then a fence has after his stolen goods have been returned to their rightful owners.

The lawfulness of the Victorian Governments “contracts” with parties behind the desalination plant making Victorians responsible for securing that pseudo investment has not yet been publicly, forthrightly addressed. Victorians have every bloody right to examine these contracts. They also have every right to challenge them in a court of law. No sovereign risk is entailed if those contracts are unlawful in common law.

The same goes for the carbon tax. Henry Ergas is blind to this fact because he does not understand the nature of parliamentary sovereignty. No majority in Parliament has the right to permanently condemn willy nilly Australians to any type of contract whatsoever. If compensation is in – and it is not – let the Labor Party pay it.

In his article Henry Ergas did not even try to expose the true nature of a carbon tax. He remains totally oblivious to the fact that the right failed dismally to destroy the principle of the tax. In fact, the right actually refused to use information that would have discredited the tax. Nope, not that lot. They set up strawmen and jab them with polystyrene mini lances. That lot make Don Quixote look a courageous, battle-hardened realist warrior.

Meanwhile, Tony Abbott is bragging that the Greg Hunt carbon tax will be capped. Abbott is either a complete fool or a brazen liar. Capped? The component scams of the Hunt carbon tax cannot be capped. But this is all beside the point of the singular fact that Greg Hunt’s Direct Action is a carbon tax.

Indeed, there is nothing direct about the Abbott-Hunt carbon tax. It is a fraudulent means of imposing a carbon tax under another name. On the other hand, the Gillard carbon tax is upfront, direct and honest. So why are the right shielding the Abbott-Hunt carbon tax from scrutiny? Why does the Institute of Public Affairs, Catallaxy, Menzies House and the Centre for Independent Studies refuse to expose the Abbott-Hunt charade as the fraud that it is?

And at the centre of this vicious deceit we find the usual Liberal Party political hacks.

Senator Bernadi, for one, adamantly refuses to condemn the very principle of a carbon tax, leaving the door open for the Abbott-Hunt carbon tax. He refuses to denounce the editor of Menzies House for advocating a carbon tax. He refuses to condemn them for defending Hunt’s carbon tax. If he had any integrity he would demand that Direct Action be incinerated and that Greg Hunt and Malcolm Turnbull be dumped by the Liberal Party.

What of Henry Ergas himself? He has not published on the economics of a carbon tax and has never debated it. No one on the right has debated the nature of a carbon tax and they never will. They would much prefer to shoot the messenger.

Liberal Party shock, anger building at their incompetent carbon tax (non) fight

Late last week Liberal Party Shadow Minister Scott Morrison did an Abetz saying the Gillard Cabinet is incompetent. Australians aren’t saying the Gillard Cabinet is incompetent. They are saying they are a disaster. Morrison might get a grip on the fact that the Liberal Party will not escape the anger and contempt of Australians either and carbon tax the Greg Hunt way is the reason why.

Scott Morrison was remarking on the Gillard Cabinet’s shambolic performance on illegal immigration (last week, 3MTR “Radio IPA”). Jews fleeing Nazi Germany were refugees and so are Koreans and Vietnamese who fled the communists. The “boat people”, boot them out of Australia and make it plain to other would be ‘refugees’ they aren’t getting in at all. End of story.

That the Liberal Party’s great attack on the Gillard Cabinet is to cry incompetence damns them. Australians already know what the latter are. They want to know what on earth does the Liberal Opposition stand for, for they don’t trust them as they freely state in elections and on radio.

Andrew Bolt commented this morning on the anger of Australians against Gillard Cabinet’s carbon tax (19/9/11, 3MTR). What he has been totally silent on for over three years now is the deception of Australians by the establishment right and their think tanks over carbon tax. And their ultimate betrayal of Australians, their aim to ram a carbon tax down our throats the Greg Hunt way.

Andrew Bolt attacks the Gillard Cabinet’s assault on free speech but he is silent on the suppression of free speech and genuine debate by the establishment right. He was also silent on the right’s thuggery against Prodos Marinakis and on their character assassination of Jackson to bury his work and Andrew Bolt is not at all ignorant of Jackson.

Bolt is silent on the right stomping on genuine guns and talent within the Liberal Party. Until Andrew Bolt works up the guts to deal with all these matters honestly and defend genuine Liberals smeared by his establishment right pals I will continue to attack the gutless hypocrite.

What Bolt no more than Morrison and Abetz comprehends is that when Australians realise the Liberal Party Opposition aims to ram down a carbon tax down our throats they will join the Greens and the Left as the object of Australians’ fury. Self satisifed, Andrew Bolt ignores hard facts as he daily parrots the IPA cost push accounting line that is destroying the fight against carbon tax.

Thanks a bloody lot Andrew Bolt. Well I’ll give him that, he’s consistent. He helped destroy the first round in the fight for free labour markets and blow the Howard Cabinet out of the 2007 electoral waters.

Over the last four days I have been engaged in some interesting discussions with various people on carbon tax. One is a rural gentleman. Rural Australians are very angry at the Gillard Cabinet and its carbon tax policy. They, however, have been given no reason but to accept the IPA-Moran garbage. I cured him of it by swiftly summing up the actual economic case against carbon tax. His jaw hit the floor. You should have heard his reaction when I delivered the punchline, “… and Hunt’s Direct Action is a carbon tax and thus will have the same impact.” Let’s quote the gentleman:

“Why, why would they do that to us. If we were all told this and they (ALP, Greens and Liberal Politicians) visited this (area) they’d never return alive.”

I told them why they will do it. The right are unprincipled, self-serving economic illiterates who hold Australians in as much contempt as the Left does. And they are the reason why the Left and the Greens are where we are and why we are in peril. You should have heard him gurgle in anger. It’s amazing how very polite types who wouldn’t use expletives in front of strangers discover they have an amazing gift for purple prose.

I also had conversations and communications with others whom I cannot name during the last few days. With a couple, just to test them I dropped the f word (and I’m not given to it either). They didn’t bat an eyelid. They were fixed by the material. They went into shock too. And yes, they swore too!

Readers, I’m engaged in ‘activism’. It’s not enough to blog. I use my contacts and approach others in an effort to try and trigger some sign of a shift. I’m only one man, but the above anecdotes shows what the impact on voters is if the true economic case against carbon tax were put to them all.

It is not carbon tax in principle the right opposes. They oppose only the Gillard form of the tax while shielding theirs the Hunt carbon tax from the anger of Australians. Here’s another example of the right’s hypocrisy, stupidity and suppression of debate:

Some N.S.W farmers prepared an extensive report against alternative energy for the Barry O’Farrell NSW Liberal Cabinet. Without seeing the report the merits of their case cannot be assessed but but one line is right: wind/solar are not market driven, they are scams requiring massive transfers of wealth by subsidies. (Turbine hype is a costly myth, Herald Sun.)

The Barry O’Farrell Liberal Party Cabinet and their advisers won’t have a bar of them. Instead, the article relates, they and their advisers are going to press ahead with looting taxpayers to fund wind-farm scams and alternative energy is the foundation of carbon tax. What does all this say about the Liberal Party?

That that lot treat with contempt concerned Australians who put in the time and effort preparing case material for Cabinet is typical of the right over decades. Tony Hodgson and Sam McGuiness can count themselves lucky. They haven’t been dealt the full treatment of being smeared and stomped on by the right unlike the likes of Jackson of Brookesnews.

The bleak irony is that the article is by an inmate of the establishment right Miranda Devine who is as economically literate as Andrew Bolt is. Miranda Devine no more attacks the rot in the Liberal Party that is the establishment right than does Bolt.

The likes of Morrison can go jump in the lake. The Opposition and its staffers can’t even join economic dots together. Instead, they and their advisers IPA Alan Moran continue to destroy the fight against carbon tax. It takes principles and spine to fight and not gaga halfwits pretending to be tough. And let’s reinforce something for the benefit of the establishment right, as the gentleman quoted above made very plain, they too will be sharing bunkers with the Left and the Greens if the Liberal Party mess is not rectified fast.

A chat with the Shadow Economist

I’ve had a couple of more chats with The Shadow Economist to turn over whether he might enter the fray.  He/she is giving it very serious consideration in view of the situation which is, the establishment right and their think tanks have destroyed the fight against carbon tax. Unless rectified, the Gillard Cabinet will remain intact to ram it down our throats in November. That, as summed up in the post below, the Opposition is now a laughing stock. The situation is dire. These facts drew a certain reaction from The Shadow Economist.

Next week will be a full week of postings with, it looks promising, some interesting developments. So, as brief as it has been that’s it for this week. Next post, Monday morning.

Liberal Party, Opposition has collapsed. Thank the Institute of Public Affairs Alan Moran for disaster.

The carbon tax should have been killed years ago. If the Opposition were correctly armed now it could still finish off carbon tax and the Gillard Cabinet. Instead, they have collapsed. They have been reduced to a laughing stock. What transpired in Parliament yesterday made their humiliating condition clear. Their collapse is due to the Institute of Public Affairs Alan Moran and their establishment right backers. Labor Party had good cause to laugh.

Anyone competent and armed could shred and finish off the Gillard Cabinet. Instead, now the ALP frontbench simply roars in laughter at them. This reduction of the Opposition to a comedy troupe is a disgrace. Of course, the last thing the establishment right want to see in place is a genuinely competent, Liberal Party Opposition matched by an array of top gun advisers and sources. It is not in their interest and sod Australians.

The establishment right through their control over the hierarchy of the Liberal Party have ensured that it is reliant on their think tanks for advice. Institute of Public Affairs, H.R. Nicholls Society, Centre for Independent Studies, Menzies House, as supported by their cheer squads Catallaxy (the coma clinic) and Quadrant (Squiggles galore). Consequently, the Institute of Public Affairs Alan Moran’s fatal accounting line was pumped into the Opposition as the real case against a carbon tax.

Recently someone with a man-in-the-street economic approach looked at the Institute of Public Affairs Alan Moran’s material and said, “it reads like simple book-keeping.” As pointed out long ago, the IPA slips adjusted spreadsheets to the Opposition to wave against Gillard’s adjusted balances. Wielding rubber knives would be dangerous.

The Institute of Public Affairs’ Alan Moran’s cost-push accounting line logically concludes that prices rise but life goes on as before, except when it doesn’t. It concedes all the false claims the Gillard Cabinet relies on to push a carbon tax. This denies the Liberal Party any economic principle on which to oppose it. The Institute of Public Affairs fed this poison to the Libs and it worked.

Yesterday they tried to attack carbon tax on the double line of the tax itself and its foundation, alternative energy. They are not armed with the case against either. (Alternative energy is so dilute that this obstacle cannot be overcome and this is why they suffer tremendous diseconomies of scale.) It was a ghastly sight that made the Custer massacre look like a schoolyard brawl.

Jo Gash prefaced a question to Gillard with a promising line:

“I refer …(her)… to the United Kingdom (study) which shows that for every green job created 3.7 jobs… are destroyed. This follows— (Government members interjecting) — You do not care about jobs being destroyed? …”

If Jo Gash actually knew what she was talking about she would not have asked that question. Instead, she would have told Gillard that her green proposals would destroy jobs and capital, and then explained why. What we got was the utterly inept:

“How many jobs does the Prime Minister estimate will be lost in Australia for every green job she claims will be created under her carbon tax?”

And the Labor Party benches broke out laughing and they didn’t stop laughing.

Wyatt Roy asked Gillard, “How many megawatts of clean energy will be produced…above the already agreed 20 per cent renewable energy target by 2020 … (due) to the $10 billion to be spent through the clean energy fund—an amount that, for example, could have been spent building 10 much needed teaching hospitals?” Gillard’s answer came straight out of the CIS-John Humphreys-Menzies House book of drivel that Ron Manners supported:

‘… we are investing in health care…. this will not be a body where politicians are there picking winners. That is the opposition’s plan…. put a price on carbon, because that is the cheapest, most effective and efficient way of transforming our economy to a clean energy future.”

But there is no carbon market. The Shadow Economist explained to me that markets are based on voluntary exchange, not political edicts. What the Labor Party has constructed is an extortion racket where permits are issued as licences to rip off consumers. Even the Mafia wouldn’t be this brazen. He also pointed out that Labor’s Policy is anti-growth and a direct assault on capital and therefore the standard of living. Not a single one of those Liberal Party drongos has the slightest understanding of these facts. And that’s what makes them drongos.

The Liberal Party’s Sophie Mirabella and Bob Baldwin could make nothing of the Labor Party’s response. The Institute of Public Affairs’ Alan Moran’s destructive cost push accounting line obviates heresy as well as independent thinking. So this ignorant pair meandered about the joint on this will cost this much more, that will cost a lot more and wondered whether the government’s compensation will be adequate.

It’s worse than a bloody disaster. It’s Australians who in November will have a carbon tax and what else surrounds it rammed down their throats because of the sheer incompetence of Liberal Party politicians. Those in the Liberal Party who really want to fight carbon tax need to grasp the following fast:

The economic case nailed by Mr. Jackson and now the Shadow Economist eviscerates the carbon tax and its boosters. Hunt’s carbon tax hatchet job must be shredded too. They have to junk the IPA and their supporters, particularly Alan Moran, and reach for the genuine case and its source. And then they come out with chainsaws before it is too bloody late. Here are more reasons why they should do this:

In official IPA emails Alan Moran admitted that the genuine economic case nailed by Jackson is absolutely correct. In other words, the Institute of Public Affairs has chosen to see Australians sent to hell in a carbon tax hand bag rather than admit publicly that Moran had made a mistake.

The Institute of Public Affairs and the establishment right treat matters that are the concern of all Australians as their personal affairs alone. The IPA advisers to the Liberal Party are playing games with the lives of Australians and are also deceiving Liberal politicians who have a duty to defend Australia.

They sure are great advisers. They have put Australians in horrendous peril and have finally succeeded in reducing the Liberal Opposition to a good for bloody nothing at all laughing stock. Well, Alan Moran is a liar as those official emails shows. The paparazzi have managed to snap a pic of the Moran at work ? Talk about making a monkey of the Opposition, Gads! It’s true!

The Liberal Party, the carbon tax and Parliamentary Dictatorship

As carbon tax day looms closer, the man in the street is not only very angry he is now saying it not only means economic devastation but also Parliamentary Dictatorship. He is half right. The Kroger strategy for the Liberal Party is about to be realised in all its perfection, a carbon tax regime.

The carbon tax edict does entail the overthrow of the the rule of (common law) for tyranny but it will not be a Parliamentary dictatorship. It will be a dictatorship of self-serving parasites who are seeking to realise their own interests through Parliament. The establishment right is directly responsible for the double peril of economic devastation and dictatorship.

There are those in the right who are appalled by carbon tax and the anti-Australian Libertarian arsenic pumped out by their little mates in the “think tanks” – Institute of Public Affairs, Centre for Independent Studies, Menzies House. And so? Their silence on these matters and their pals’ knifing and smearing of genuine classical Liberal talent inside and outside of the Party damns them too.

They control the Liberal Party. They have stuffed its hierarchy and Parliamentary seats with their pet political hacks. It’s why the Abbott Shadow Cabinet is not an Opposition loaded with talent (Senator Abetz’s recent comments are garbage). It’s a Cabinet of cretins bent on ramming carbon tax down our throats the Greg Hunt way.

Genuine Liberal talent has been stomped on and eliminated. The right rectify the odd mistake of any slipping through their guard by knifing them in the back as they did to David Jenkins and in 2006 to Prodos Marinakis (Richmond Branch’s candidate for the 2006 Victorian State election). There is also the smearing and character assassination of Jackson. Genuine talent within the Liberal Party has been treated in the same way as debate, totally suppressed.

They have reduced the Liberal Party to a personal platform for themselves and their clunker tankers in order to advance their own interests. Ordinary members are penguins who should gaze stupidly in awe at the self-appointed elite of the Liberal Party as this lot of parasites hoover wallets. The Victorian Division of the Liberal Party is unique in one respect . In 2004 the Toorak backed Kroger-Kemp axis rigged the Constitution of the Liberal Party, thus locking in their complete control over it.

The right pretend to be principled and decent. Garbage. They are no better than Leftists. And ordinary members know it. A few years ago some Tasmanian members stated their anger in blunt terms. Even some demur grannies stated to me they want to see a real bloody fight to gut the Party of the bastards and render it a genuine Liberal Party. For the first time in their lives these ladies let fly with purple language, ending with a stirring cry of, “Give ‘em, hell!”

They were dead right, because now they are lumbered with the carbon taxing, green cultist Shadow Cabinet of grinning clowns lead by Will Hodgman. And the thing is, mainlanders assume Tasmania is a Greens fortress. It is not. The Greens are detested throughout Tasmania.

The reason why the Greens control the Gillard and Giddings Cabinets is the unprincipled, spineless shits of the right and their “think tanks”. That’s all that’s keeping the Left and the Greens in place, a pack of arrogant, conceited, egotistical thick-heads who stand for nothing but themselves.

The Kroger strategy for the Liberal Party is to be perfectly realised through a Federal carbon tax regime. Following the defeat of Jeff Kennett in the 1999 Victorian State election, Kroger stated that the electorate will come crawling back to the Liberals because the Labour Party always stuff it up. Thanks to Kroger’s and his pals’ stupidity it took the Liberals eleven years to beat labor. Even then the Liberal Party barely scraped back into office under Ted Baillieu in 2010. In 2011, they couldn’t even manage that against the detested Rudd-Gillard Cabinet. The man in the street is stating loudly the reason for such abysmal failure and on radio too! The Opposition is no damned better.

The brilliant strategy shows the extreme Left and the Greens are not alone in their callous contempt for Australians and Australia. After all, the right see Australians in pain and flooding back to them is principle and decency? But now it has a twist. They are going to kick them in the teeth and grind them into the dust all over again with their Hunt carbon tax.

The difference between the extreme Left and the establishment right is that the former are motivated by their hideous socialist cult. The latter are motivated by their own interests, and to serve themselves they are also bent on inflicting totalitarian hell. This is the entire policy framework they have committed their “Opposition” to. It’s not a Parliamentary dictatorship in the making, it’s a dictatorship of interests.

The edict of carbon tax could have been killed many years ago but for the right and their clunker tankers. It will be rammed down our throats in November. That will be the end of Australia. The whole lot of them, Left and establishment right, are a pack of parasitic, treacherous, un-Australian slimy bastards. And this goes for their pet blobs holding Liberal Party seats too.

It’s bloody horrendous what the establishment right and their rotten little “think tanks” are responsible for.
